As a licensed aesthetician and someone that is always looking for the most innovative science-based skin care treatments, I had been hearing a lot of buzz about a new treatment called PRX-T33. After learning more about this new treatment and understanding the science behind its efficacy, I wanted to experience it firsthand. Before I talk about my personal experience as well as some of our patients’ experiences, I think it is important to explain the science.
PRX-T33 is a biorevitalization “non-peel” that tightens without the exfoliation. It is an improved, next generation formula of a trichloroacetic acid (TCA). This non-injectable, painless, 30-minute liquid skin treatment is applied providing immediate aesthetic improvement and deep hydration. It works from the inside out, stimulating the tissues deep in the lower layers of the skin without causing damage to the surface layer of the skin. The PRX-T33 contains a 33% TCA chemical agent that has long been used for peeling and treating damaged skin as well as Kojic Acid which all traditional peels contain to lighten pigmentation issues. What makes PRX-T33 different though, is that it contains a low concentration of Hydrogen Peroxide, which regulates inflammation and prevents peeling!
PRX-T33 is for all skin types and since it is non photo-sensitizing it can be done year-round, yes- even summer. This super treatment is for hyperpigmentation, aging, sagging skin, crepey skin, sun damaged skin, scars, melasma, acne, stretch marks, or if you just want to prevent dermal aging.
After doing the suggested 5 treatments, I was extremely happy with the results. My skin was plumper and brighter. As for our patients, they were equally pleased. Some saw improvement with their fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin, while others experienced a significant improvement with their pigmentation and texture. While myself nor any of our patients had peeling, a very small percentage did have some very minor flaking, which was easily resolved with moisturizing.
